On the heels of the recent report about The Revival possibly looking to leave WWE, a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet states that Mike and Maria Kanellis recently asked to be let go by WWE.
The report cites sources saying that Maria has been unhappy with the way they’ve been used for a while and they made the decision to request for their release a few weeks ago.
Mike has started selling t-shirts again under his real name Mike Bennett on Pro Wrestling Tees.
It’s not common for WWE to grant releases when wrestlers request so they might have to sit at home until their contract expires. This is similar to Neville’s (PAC) situation. He had to sit at home for several months before he was able to work elsewhere. The same happened a few years ago with Rey Mysterio.
Obviously, with All Elite Wrestling launching and paying big money, you’d have to assume that Mike and Maria would look at that company as a potential destination once they are legally able to.
Mike has gotten himself clean from substance abuse issues and he’s worked hard to get himself in tremendous shape. Despite his efforts, he was moved to 205 Live and has not appeared much on that show. Maria recently expressed frustration on Twitter about her husband not being featured much on WWE TV.
So why is this guy not on TV? SMH https://t.co/lssPPMlubE
