WWE Netflix Producer Reveals Linda McMahon Was Tight-Lipped in ‘Mr. McMahon’ Interview

The “Mr. McMahon” docuseries, now streaming on Netflix, delves deep into the life and career of Vince McMahon, the former WWE Chairman and CEO. The six-part series features interviews with wrestlers and members of the McMahon family, offering a candid look into the controversial figure’s personal and professional life.

One of the topics covered in the series is Vince’s admission of having affairs while married to Linda McMahon. These affairs were even incorporated into some of his on-screen storylines. However, despite the subject being addressed, Vince provides little detail about the affairs, and Linda McMahon remains mostly silent on the matter.

During an interview on the SI Media Podcast, David Shoemaker, a consulting producer for the series, commented on Linda’s lack of input regarding the affairs.

“I think it’s clear from watching, you asked about Vince not giving you anything, Linda was not the most forthcoming person in that interview either,” said Shoemaker. “I think I was there for that one, I don’t even remember if there was more good stuff on the cutting room floor. I certainly wish we could have gotten more details about that from her. It’s a very business relationship, I would say.”

He added that the relationship between Vince and Linda seemed to be very business-oriented, and more details from Linda were likely left on the cutting room floor.

Adding to the controversy, a January lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant shed more light on Vince’s affairs and his relationship with Linda. The lawsuit, which accuses McMahon of sexual assault and sex trafficking, was paused for six months starting on May 30 to allow for a federal investigation into McMahon, who resigned from TKO/WWE after the lawsuit was filed.

All six episodes of “Mr. McMahon” are now available for streaming on Netflix, offering a fascinating yet controversial glimpse into the man who shaped professional wrestling as we know it today.

The docuseries paints a complex picture of Vince McMahon’s legacy, from his business acumen to the personal scandals that have plagued his career. As more details emerge through lawsuits and investigations, fans and viewers alike will continue to grapple with the duality of a man who redefined the world of professional wrestling while facing serious allegations.
