The Unholy Union (c) vs. Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill – WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship

Backdrop: Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn captured the women’s tag team titles at Clash the Castle: Scotland. The pair retained their titles in controversial fashion on weekly television. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced a tag team title match between the two teams for WWE Bash in Berlin on 8/23.

Prediction: The Unholy Union has never been able to get a decisive win over Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. Bash in Berlin is their opportunity to solidify their run as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Belair and Cargill have done well as a tag team, but it’s time for the two women to go their separate ways.

The Terror Twins vs. The Judgment Day at WWE Bash in Berlin

Backdrop: It all began at SummerSlam 2024 when Dominik Mysterio “inadvertently” helped Liv Morgan retain her Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley. Dom would confirm his on-screen relationship with Liv by kissing her after the match. The same night, Finn Balor cost Damian Priest his world title against Gunther kicking off Judgment Day’s feud with The Terror Twins. Balor had reportedly pitched to rename the group “Street Trash” but WWE didn’t pull the trigger due to fan reaction.

Prediction: I do not want this feud to end but it can’t last forever. The Judgment Day has been one of the biggest success stories of RAW since 2022. The faction has given WWE fans some truly memorable moments. Priest and Ripley going over Dom and Liv would be the storybook ending to this feud. That said, Balor may pull off something controversial because Judgment Day still has the numbers advantage.

CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre – Strap Match

Backdrop: Drew McIntyre injured CM Punk at the 2024 Royal Rumble. Punk ruined McIntyre’s world title celebration at WrestleMania XL. The Straight Edge Superstar traveled across the world to pull the Glasgow Screwjob. McIntyre retaliated by stealing Punk’s prized bracelet from him. He would go on to defeat Punk in their SummerSlam 2024 match-up, which had Seth Rollins as the special guest referee. Punk challenged McIntyre to a Strap Match for WWE Bash in Berlin on 8/12 RAW, which was made official by Adam Pearce the following week.

Prediction: These guys have delivered the hottest rivalry post-Mania. We’ve seen Punk shed tears. We’ve seen him bleed all over the floor. The man has nothing to prove to the WWE Universe. He just wants McIntyre to pay for stealing his most prized possession. Drew continues to get praise for doing the best work of his career. He’s more than held his own against Punk on the mic. A victory for Punk would make it a stalemate and, quite possibly, plant the seeds for a rubber match at Bad Blood.

Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens – Undisputed WWE Championship match

Backdrop: Cody Rhodes handpicked Kevin Owens to face him for the undisputed title at WWE Bash in Berlin. Owens said he didn’t earn the right to fight for the title. A little bit of convincing from Aldis and Cody made KO reluctantly change his mind and accept the challenge. Both men spent the following weeks fending off A-Town Down Under while showing signs of hostility against each other.

Prediction: Bash in Berlin marks Owens’ first one-on-one world title match-up since Royal Rumble 2023. The Prizefighter continues to be reliable in every spot he’s given. He and Zayn had a tremendous payoff against The Usos, a fun program with Logan Paul and an absolute war with The Bloodline. We’ve seen KO tease a return to his old self during his program with Cody. He isn’t winning the title this Saturday but would, no doubt, tear the house down with the American Nightmare.

Gunther (c) vs. Randy Orton – World Heavy Championship match at WWE Bash in Berlin

Backdrop: Randy Orton showed up to answer the challenge on RAW after SummerSlam 2024. The Viper said Gunther owed him a match for his controversial win in the 2024 King of the Ring Tournament final. The Ring General accepted the challenge for WWE Bash in Berlin. The following weeks saw both men get physical with Gunther eating an RKO from the former 14-time world champion.

Prediction: WWE brilliantly used the controversial ending to Gunther versus Orton I to set up this feud. Gunther fulfilled his destiny at SummerSlam 2024 by becoming the World Heavyweight Champion. Orton may be public enemy number one this Saturday but he’s one of the best to ever lace up a pair of boots. This match could exceed their Saudi Arabia match. I want Orton to become a 15-time World Champion but not at Gunther’s expense.

WrestleZone will have full coverage of WWE Bash in Berlin as it airs.
