Reason why Vince McMahon doesn’t appear on WWE TV as much anymore

You don’t get as much of Vince McMahon on WWE TV as you used to back in the late ’90s and early ‘2000s. Vince McMahon used to be the primary authoritarian heel on Monday Night RAW and SmackDown Live; feuding with the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, D-Generation X and more.

Nowadays McMahon resides comfortably backstage monitoring the show’s production from afar. “The Chairman Of The Board” has appeared sporadically in recent years for events such as RAW 25, the Greatest Royal Rumble and the announcement of WWE Evolution.

This was recently discussed on Wrestling Observer Radio by both Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez. Alvarez noted that Vince is looking very old these days. Meltzer revealed that’s the reason McMahon doesn’t like to be on WWE TV as much as he used to.

Instead Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have emerged as the new authoritarian figures on WWE programming. Meltzer also noted that Vince wasn’t heavily involved in negotiations for WWE’s new broadcasting deal, as “The Game” and Stephanie took the forefront on that as well. Meltzer used the term “transition.”
