WATCH: Daniel Bryan reveals what it was like working with Big Cass in WWE

Earlier this year, Big Cass was released from his WWE contract. Cass earned his claim to fame opposite Enzo Amore in NXT as the duo were a very popular tag team. Upon getting called up to the main roster on Raw, they were unable to ever capture the Raw Tag Team Championships.

Eventually, Cass turned on Amore and the two began their respective singles careers. Cass suffered an ACL injury that would sideline him for several months, and Amore went on to capture the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. After returning from his injury on SmackDown Live, Cass began feuding with Daniel Bryan. He suffered back-to-back losses to Bryan via submission at the Money In The Bank and Backlash pay-per-views.

His loss to Bryan at MITB was his last match for WWE, as he was released on June 19th. Sports Illustrated reported the release was due to Cass’ behavioral issues and disobeying direct orders from Vince McMahon. Daniel Bryan recently did an interview with Sky Sports this past weekend to promote SummerSlam. Bryan said he actually liked working with Cass and wishes him the best in his career on the indies:

“I really liked working with Big Cass. I thought that he progressed a lot in the time that we were working together. I honestly wish him the best of luck. I like him a lot as a person and as a wrestler so I hope he does really well.”
