Two Former WWE Names Were Backstage At AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door

Sunday’s AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view event at the UBS Arena in Elmont, NY, was noteworthy, with two interesting names backstage at the event.

This year’s event featured AEW World Heavyweight Champion Swerve Strickland vs. Will Ospreay in the main event, with Strickland going over to retain. Many fans have praised it for being a classic bout with a standout performance by both stars.

Dijak was backstage at the show, as indicated on his Twitter account. Dijak made his first post-WWE appearance in a surprise, unadvertised debut on Saturday night at the Blitzkrieg Pro event, where he interrupted CPA’s celebration before laying him out with his Feast Your Eyes finisher. His WWE deal expired last Friday.

Also, PWInsider.com reports that Matt Camp, who previously hosted WWE’s The Bump, was at the show. Camp previously worked on various WWE shows, including Raw Talk and Smackdown Lowdown.

He was on the WWE NXT Vengeance Day kickoff before his exit. His departure was in February, and the reaction internally shocked several people at WWE.

It’s unclear whether AEW is planning to sign Camp and Dijak.
