Team AEW Beats The Elite In Blood & Guts Match On 7/24 AEW Dynamite

Team AEW scored some revenge on AEW Dynamite.

On the July 24th episode of AEW Dynamite, The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, Jack Perry, Kazuchika Okada, and Hangman Page) faced Team AEW (Swerve Strickland, Darby Allin, Mark Briscoe, and The Acclaimed) in the Blood & Guts match.

TNT Champion Jack Perry and Darby Allin started the bout, and they fought into the crowd. Allin got Perry into the cage, and the champion hit him with a trash can. Perry then choked him with some rope. He slammed Allin into the trash can and continued to control the action.

Nicholas Jackson entered the match next, and he brought a chair and a suitcase with him. Perry and Nicholas maintained the upper hand as Jackson rocked Allin with a kick. They continued to control the action. ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe entered the match and took the fight to Perry and Jackson. Allin hit Jackson with a ladder as Team AEW kept rolling.

Briscoe hit Nicholas with a trash can, and Matthew Jackson entered the match, carrying a briefcase of his own. The Elite took control again, and Mark Briscoe got busted open. Nicholas powered Allin into Briscoe, and Perry hit him with a briefcase. Anthony Bowens was the next man in, and he went right at Nicholas. He fired up with a flurry of offense. Briscoe rallied, and Team AEW gained the upper hand as Allin hit a Scorpion Death Drop. Allin jumped onto a thumbtack-studded skateboard onto Matthew. Bowens brought out some scissors and gouged Perry with him.

Okada then entered the match. He dished out some punishment with a “Rainmaker Drive” road sign and dropped Briscoe with a Tombstone. Okada dropkicked a chair into Briscoe’s face. The Elite controlled the action. Max Caster entered the match and hit his The Elite members with a microphone. He hit Perry with a chair and brought out a barbed wire board. Perry then sent Caster into the cage wall, and Bowens got slammed onto the barbed wire.

Adam Page Joins The Fight

Matthew sandwiched Bowens between barbed wire, and Nicholas hit a swanton. Matthew dumped out some thumbtacks, and Okada put them in Caster’s mouth. The Young Bucks then superkicked Caster while he had a mouthful of tacks. Hangman Adam Page’s music played, but he didn’t come out. Team AEW rallied, and Bowens hit Matthew with Scissor Me Timbers while his leg was wrapped in barbed wire.

AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland entered the match, and Page attacked him from behind. Okada sent Briscoe into a barbed wire board with a kick while Page handcuffed Strickland to the cage wall. He hit Strickland with the world title.

Page kept attacking Strickland, and Matthew told him he would be fired if he didn’t get in the ring. Page got in the ring, and the cage door closed, so Strickland was locked out. He got in Okada’s face, and they argued. The two teams started fighting as the match officially began. Jeff Jarrett came out, but Brandon Cuter stopped him. Billy Gunn came down and punched Cutler. Jarrett smashed a guitar over Cutler’s head. Jarrett and Gunn then freed Strickland, who entered the cage and took the fight to The Elite.

Strickland then brawled with Page. Allin dropped Page with a Code Red. Briscoe rallied, and Strickland floored Perry with a flatliner. Strickland brought out a staple gun, but Matthew hit him below the belt. He opened his briefcase and revealed that it contained more staple guns. The Elite repeatedly stapled Strickland. Strickland used a staple gun of his own and dished out some punishment.

Page accidentally took Okada out with a Buckshot Lariat, and Strickland hit Page with a House Call. Page and Strickland brawled up the ramp, and they went crashing off the stage.

Chaotic Ending

Bowens fought with Nicholas Jackson on the wall of the cage, and Jackson sent him crashing through multiple tables at ringside. Briscoe dropped Okada with a Jay Driller and hit Matthew and Perry with one each as well. He also hit Nicholas with one. Allin climbed up to the bars at the top of the cage and hit a Coffin Drop on Perry, putting him through a table.

Perry got handcuffed to the cage well, and Briscoe hit him with a kendo stick. Briscoe threw a chair at him. Allin brought out a gas can and dumped gas on Perry. Allin threatened to light Perry on fire, and Perry spit at him. Matthew Jackson said things had gone too far, so he agreed to give Allin a shot at Perry’s TNT Championship at AEW All In. Matthew then said he quit, so Team AEW won.
