R-Truth won his first title in WWE in over 7 years on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live.
Truth was able to roll up Shinsuke Nakamura in a small package to win the United States Championship. It was a weird ending because there was some confusion over whether or not Truth had Nakamura’s shoulders pinned to the mat. The referee said yes and awarded the match and title to Truth.
Rusev walked out and he wasn’t thrilled with Truth representing WWE as the U.S. Champion so he demanded a match for the title.
Truth also got the win on Rusev with a roll-up to retain the title. Rusev and Nakamura put their differences aside to attack Truth after the match.
It looks like they are building towards a Triple Threat Match for the title at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.
