The Watch List looks at what matches you should be watching, and they are recommended by today’s professional wrestling stars.

WrestleZone recently spoke with Mike Santana, who picked recent matches with “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Josh Alexander that were highlights of his singles run. In particular, Santana said Alexander pushed him to his limits, and he knows they’ll square off again soon.

“This was before I got hurt, I had a match with Mike Bailey in Chicago. That’s definitely one that I enjoyed a lot. It was for Warrior Wrestling. I had one in January against Josh Alexander. That match motivated the hell out of me,” Santana explained. “I was getting into a groove. I was just pretty much getting back in the game, but having that match with him, he pushed me to my absolute limits. We went like 25 minutes non-stop, just beating the hell out of each other. I know we’re going to mix it up again, but, he’s always been one to motivate me.”

“I got to work Penta [El Zero Miedo] in a singles at House of Glory. Lucha Bros and LAX, we worked each other all over the world so many times. Getting to to wrestle him on my own was definitely a treat for me,” he added.

Santana on Bailey and Alexander

Santana spoke about his respect for Bailey and Alexander, noting that they share a similar mindset in the ring.

“I respect the hell out of them because they have one speed. There’s no half-assing with those guys. I’m the same type of performer. I have one speed. If I’m booked on a show, I’m coming to work. And whoever I’m wrestling better be coming to work also. I pride myself on that. And those two guys are definitely at the top of, of like, ‘Yo, come to work.’ They don’t rest on their laurels one bit, and you gotta respect it.”
