Mark Briscoe To Defend ROH World Title Against Chris Jericho At AEW WrestleDream

Chris Jericho will aim to become a nine-time world champion at AEW WrestleDream.

On the October 2 episode of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho and The Learning Tree came to the ring. Jericho highlighted how AEW was celebrating their new TV deal and noted there wouldn’t be one without him. He noted that he had been focused on his goals within The Learning Tree in recent months, but after facing Mistico at CMLL’s 91st Anniversary show and pinning Mark Briscoe at AEW Collision: Grand Slam, he realized that it was time for a new era of Jericho.

Jericho said that he wanted to become the “nueve”, as he aimed to win his ninth world title. He then challenged Briscoe to defend the ROH World Championship against him at AEW WrestleDream. Briscoe came out and highlighted how Jericho was a legend, and beating him would be a huge feat. Jericho went low by saying that he did not think that Mark could beta him, but maybe his late brother Jay could. He also said that everyone knew that Jay was better than Mark.

Mark dropped Jericho, telling him to keep his brother’s name out of his mouth. He accepted the challenge and told Jericho that he would get a Briscoe Brothers-style ass-whooping.

Jericho previously had a run as the ROH World Champion in 2022 before Claudio Castagnoli dethroned him at ROH Final Battle.
