Late changes made before WWE Extreme Rules, Vince McMahon not backstage last night

It looks like Hulk Hogan did not meet with Vince McMahon last night at WWE Extreme Rules because McMahon was not at the show. PWInsider reports that McMahon was in communication with officials during the show but it was Triple H and Billy Kidman working at the gorilla position.

Randy Orton was hidden in a bus backstage until about 30 minutes before he made his return. Orton will be challenging for the United States Championship at SummerSlam. We were told that his attack on Shinsuke Nakamura was not meant to come off as a heel turn.

PWInsider reports that the card was shuffled just hours before the show. The Iron Man match was originally scheduled to kick off the show and the final hour was supposed to feature AJ Styles vs. Rusev, Nia Jax vs. Alexa Bliss and Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley as the final match. Someone made the call to switch things around and the Iron Man match was given the main event slot. We were told that cable companies were told that the show would end well before 11 pm so the 10:45 pm end time was what was planned.

We were told that Nikki Cross was backstage. She worked Smackdown Live events this weekend and last weekend. We haven’t confirmed this but it looks like she might be the next NXT star to move up to the main roster.
