Kenny Omega sounds off on his dream WWE opponent

Although former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega didn’t join the WWE once he became a free agent once his contract with NJPW (New Japan Pro Wrestling) expired in January, he did have an opponent in mind if he had signed with the sports entertainment company.

Omega received contract offers from WWE, NJPW, and AEW, but he decided All Elite Wrestling was his best landing spot at this time of his career. Now, Omega is slated to face Chris Jericho for a second time at the Double or Nothing event on May 25th.

Omega recently spoke with Tokyo-Sports where he talked about various topics that include his dream opponent if he had signed with WWE instead of AEW, which is when he named former WWE Champion AJ Styles.

“AJ Styles [would be my dream WWE match],” Omega said. “But, for example, you have wrestlers saying, ‘I want to go to Wrestlemania.’ The WrestleMania for me was Tokyo Dome. My biggest dream has already come true. From now on, I want to concentrate on not only myself but wrestling overall. I do not want to imitate what I did in [New Japan]. I want to show my favorite professional wrestling to the world and I will in AEW. Of course, I love Japan. I still live here and I like wrestling in Japan. But I could not do much more in New Japan now.“
