The AEW World Championship match for AEW WrestleDream 2024 has been settled as Jon Moxley defeated Darby Allin at AEW: Dynamite Grand Slam to secure himself a shot at the title.
Darby Allin had previously earned a future title opportunity for Grand Slam itself when he won the Royal Rampage match on the July 26th edition of AEW Rampage. However, Moxley was able to coerce Allin into agreeing to put his title shot on the line at Grand Slam instead, which proved to be a bad call on Allin’s part and a masterful move on Moxley’s.
Addressing his future challenger, as well as the attack he suffered from the betrayal of his Blackpool Combat Club brethren at AEW All Out, World Champion Bryan Danielson came out at the end of this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite to make the match for WrestleDream official, as well as to confirm his plans to kick Moxley’s head in for revenge.
So far, this is the only match announced for AEW WrestleDream, but stay tuned to eWrestlingNews.com for more updates as this card is surely going to fill up very soon.

Speaking of matches announced in advance, we also know one more match that will take place on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, which is the five-year anniversary of the flagship show for All Elite Wrestling.
Announced via a lower-third graphic, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. will be in action against Serena Deeb. This accompanies the other previously scheduled match wherein Will Ospreay will defend the AEW International Championship against Ricochet.
