Former AEW star debuted at the Impact Wrestling tapings

Days after finishing up with All Elite Wrestling, Alan “5” Angels made his surprise debut for Impact Wrestling on Saturday night at the TV tapings held in Atlanta, Georgia.

At Friday’s Against All Odds special, X-Division Champion “Speedball” Mike Bailey successfully defended the title against former champion Trey Miguel. Post-match, he issued a match challenge at the tapings.

Once Bailey wanted to know who he would be facing, the former AEW star came out to the ring. It’s unclear when the match will air on the weekly television show or whether Angels has signed a contract with Impact. This may have been a one-off appearance as he is from Georgia.

Angels confirmed in a statement earlier this week that his AEW contract had expired and thanked the promotion for the opportunity.

Angels made his AEW debut in early 2020 during a set of TV tapings, and he was later added to the Dark Order group. His last match for AEW was against Daniel Garcia at the June 11th Dark taping, although that bout has yet to air on the weekly YouTube series.
