Eric Young isnāt just thinking about his next match ā heās thinking about when itāll be his last.
During an recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, the 44-year-old veteran opened up about his retirement plans, shedding light on how much time he believes he has left in the ring. Spoiler alert: the clock is ticking.
Young, whoās carved out an incredible career across promotions like TNA/IMPACT Wrestling and WWE, made it clear that he has no intention of overstaying his welcome. āI donāt want to be the guy whoās just taking up space,ā Young said. āThatās not fair to the talent coming up.ā
Despite being in his mid-40s, Young believes heās got another solid four or five years left to offer the wrestling world before he hangs up his boots for good. āIām 44 now, and Iāll be 45 in December,ā he said. āBut I donāt think my wrestling is much different than it was 15 years ago.ā Still, he knows that eventually, age catches up with everyone, and when he feels he canāt keep up with the new crop of talent, thatās when heāll call it quits.
With over 20 years in the business, Eric Young has seen it all and done it all. From his championship reigns in TNA to his memorable moments in WWE, heās earned his place among wrestlingās elite. But even legends have to step aside someday, and for Young, that day isnāt too far off.
As Eric Young begins to plan for life after wrestling, fans are left wondering ā how will the industry fill the void when a veteran like Young steps away? Will he stay involved behind the scenes, or will we see him embark on a new chapter altogether? Only time will tell.
