As Dustin Rhodes approaches a potential contract renewal, speculation about whether he would stay with All Elite Wrestling or return to WWE has been circulating. Rhodes, who has been with AEW since its inception in 2019, hinted earlier this year that he’s not done in the ring yet.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rhodes is expected to re-sign with AEW, though it’s currently unclear whether the deal has been officially signed.
“Dustin Rhodes, whose AEW contract expires soon but he?s expected to renew, announced he would start running regular live shows in Texas under the banner of the Rhodes Wrestling Federation.”
Rhodes made his professional wrestling debut in September 1988 and has had an illustrious career spanning multiple promotions. He spent significant time in WWE from 1995 to 2019, where he captured the Intercontinental Championship three times and the Hardcore Championship nine times. He also held various tag team titles and made a significant impact on the wrestling world. Additionally, Rhodes had notable runs in WCW and TNA Wrestling, where he won multiple championships, including the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship twice.
In 2019, Rhodes made the move to AEW, where he has taken on a dual role as both an in-ring performer and a coach, contributing greatly to the development of AEW?s younger talent.
As Rhodes’ AEW contract renewal looms, fans are eager to see if the legend will continue his journey with AEW or make a surprise return to WWE. Either way, his impact on the wrestling industry is undeniable.
