Deonna Purrazzo Recalls Her ROH Run, The Outrunners Recall Their First Meeting

In a recent appearance on “The Wrestling Classic” podcast, Deonna Purrazzo discussed her experience in Ring Of Honor and explained why it holds immense significance.

Purrazzo said, Oh, that means everything to me. I feel like, Ring Of Honor, talking about it — getting to go back a couple of years ago, my heart is like a Ring Of Honor kid. That’s who I am. That’s my wrestling identity. I got to really develop who the Virtuosa was going to be before I even knew who she was going to be by developing that Ring Of Honor division. I think that, yeah, women’s wrestling kind of got put back on the map a little bit, but we fought so hard for each and every single one of those matches. Each and every single like social pre-tape that we did, we had to fight so hard to do that. I think more than fighting for women’s wrestling, I learned a lot about the fight I had inside of me as a professional and what I was willing to put up with and what I wasn’t willing to put up with and the direction that I saw myself and the division going. So, I look back on those days, there was so much shit we went through, but like so fondly of, like, those are my formative years and that’s when I learned who I was going to be in this wrestling crazy business.”

On a recent edition of the “AEW Unrestricted” podcast, The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum) revealed how they first crossed paths in the industry.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On being diagnosed with OCD: “It was a really dark day. Just a young boy and I had to go to the hospital, it was a very serious condition. We didn’t know what was going on with me, couldn’t figure out, doctors had no idea what the heck was going on. I told the doctor, ‘Give it to me straight, what is it?’ It’s incurable. I said, ‘That doesn’t sound great, just give it to me straight talk.’ She said, ‘Turbo, I’m sorry to do this to you, but you’ve been diagnosed with OCD.’ I said, ‘What the h-e-double-l is OCD?’ She said, ‘Turbo, you’re one cool dude.’ I said, ‘No way. Me?’”

On the doctor introducing him to Truth Magnum: “She said, ‘Yeah, you. But there’s still hope, there’s still a chance that you might be able to make it through because right next door is another guy who’s been diagnosed with OCD, Im’ma bring him in right now.’ There he was. She said, ‘Here he is, Truth Magnum, both of you have OCD.’ She said, ‘Oh my God, I’ve discovered it, you both got it, 2CD, two cool dudes.’”
