There aren’t many details available but there was an altercation backstage at Minute Maid Park before the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that there was a verbal altercation between Brock Lesnar and Matt Riddle.
Apparently, they were passing each other backstage when words were exchanged. A source said that Lesnar wanted to know the reality of the situation between himself and Riddle.
As many of you know, Riddle has been trash-talking Lesnar during interviews and on social media for the last couple of years or so. Riddle has said that he wants to retire Lesnar at WrestleMania.
The thing is that everything that Riddle has been saying about Lesnar has not been storyline-related and there are currently no plans for Lesnar to face Riddle at WrestleMania.
The backstage altercation at the Rumble would be the first time that Lesnar and Riddle have met face to face. It would not surprise me to see this turned into an angle at some point but, at this point, the plan for Lesnar at WrestleMania is for him to face Drew McIntyre. It would also not surprise me if we never see the Lesnar vs. Riddle match.
