Big E weighs in on the turmoil.
There seems to be trouble in paradise for The New Day lately, but Big E isnât too worried. During a recent interview with Sports Talk Philly addressed the brewing tension between his New Day comrades Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
In doing so, Big E also addressed a cryptic X post that Woods put out recently, which insinuated that he may see some âold friendsâ soon.
âWeâve had a long run. Ten years is a very long time. Weâve been guys where youâve never really seen any tension from us, but Kofi and Woods right now are going through a bit of turmoil,â Big E said. âI think that happens in any marriage, whether itâs a long-lasting one or not. But thatâs how people approach being a team together: it feels very much like a marriage in the way you communicate, and sometimes youâre not always on the same page.â
Big E is âHopefulâ That Kingston & Woods Can Sort Things Out Themselves
Regarding Woodsâ cryptic social media post, Big E admitted that he was unaware of what Woods was referring to. He is hopeful, however, that Woods and Kingston can soon return to a harmonious state on their own, while he continues to recover from a March 2022 neck injury.
âIâm still very connected, but itâs one of those things where I donât want to meddle or be involved if Iâm not asked to be involved,â Big E said. âIâm hopeful that whatever they are going through they will figure out. We spent a decade together, even at a time when no one foresaw us doing these incredible things. The only reason we made it through the tough times in 2014 and 2015 was because we stuck together.
âIt was us against everyone that stood in our way. So I hope more than anything that those guys always remember why we started this, why we came together and how much we care about each other,â Big E continued. âUltimately, thatâs really what matters, even when weâre done wrestling. Itâs a friendship and a bond that will survive long past our in-ring days, and I hope they never forget that.â
