Backstage News On What Cities WWE Considered For Future WrestleMania Events Before Endeavor Acquisition

A lot of changes have been made in WWE since the Endeavor acquisition last year, with WWE and UFC merging into TKO. That includes WrestleMania as well, with the latest announcement coming over the weekend that WrestleMania 41 will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, on April 19th and 20th from Allegiant Stadium.

In addition to Mania, WWE will host The World fan access events, SmackDown/Hall of Fame, NXT, and Monday Night Raw during the weekend as well. This was a change from Minneapolis, Minnesota, which had been the front-runner to host the event at U.S. Bank Stadium once they submitted a pitch to host it.

Pwinsider reports that before the acquisition, WWE was looking at cities such as New Orleans, Las Vegas, and Orlando, Florida, as the lead candidates to host future events when Han Saboor was presiding as WWE’s EVP of Special Events. He departed from WWE last year and is currently working for Full Sail University.

Regarding Minneapolis, it was said that while it was looking extremely likely before the Endeavor acquisition, things changed at some point when ownership decided they wanted Vegas. The feeling was that it was a more prestigious market, especially due to its relationship with the UFC, the home of many UFC events and its headquarters.

Per the report, Orlando and New Orleans are not guaranteed locks going forward as future considerations for host cities will come down to how much cities are willing to pay to host, including London.

It was said that WWE President Nick Khan and his team would be extremely receptive to the idea if London wants to pay the right amount of money for it.
