AEW Star’s Contract Set To Expire Soon

AEW will look to re-sign one star who will make the decision on whether to stay or leave the promotion.

That star is Dustin Rhodes, who made his professional debut in September of 1988. He had multiple stints with WWE from 1995 to 2019 and worked for TNA Wrestling and WCW throughout his professional wrestling career. Rhodes won the World Tag Team Championship twice, the Six-Man Tag Team Championship once, and the United States Heavyweight Championship twice while in WCW.

Rhodes won the Intercontinental Championship three times, the Hardcore Championship nine times, the World Tag Team Championship once, and the WWE Tag Team Championship twice in WWE. He joined AEW in 2019 and has been a player/coach for the promotion.

In July, Rhodes stated that he’s not done in the ring just yet. Fightful Select reported last year that his deal was up in September 2024.

Fightful has confirmed that his deal with the company is still up in the fall. As of this writing, it’s unclear whether WWE nor Rhodes is interested in working together again should Rhodes opt to leave AEW.
