AEW just celebrated five years of Dynamite, and they did it without a McMahon aboard. Only time will tell if they can go another half a decade without a McMahon on the payroll, because it appears that Shane McMahon may be on his way to the Land of All Elite.
Shane McMahon’s name trended on social media as fans discussed him coming into AEW. This was boosted into high gear after Jon Moxley’s cryptic and angry promo that concluded the October 2 AEW Dynamite 5-Year Anniversary episode.
In the latest edition of her Mone Mag, Mercedes Mone commented on the possibility of Shane McMahon making a bold leap into AEW. She is all for it, and she also spoke for the rest of the locker room while she was at it.
“Seeing Shane’s incredible heart and passion for wrestling makes me think he has a lot of unfinished business. It also makes me think is Shane coming to AEW? I’m here for it, and I’m sure our roster is too. Regardless, it just seems like Shane belongs in the wrestling business. I admit if he doesn’t come back to wrestling, it will make me sad for him. I know what it’s like to be removed from what you love and how sad it made me. I imagine he feels the same way.”
Shane McMahon coming in for an angle with AEW would be a groundbreaking announcement. We will have to see how they run with this storyline, but it may go deeper than just an angle. After all, McMahon and Tony Khan had a meeting that leaked, which started this whole wave of rumors.
Tony Khan and Shane McMahon were caught having a meeting to discuss potential future ventures. Tony Khan addressed that photo and so did Shane McMahon eventually. Shane O Mac has also had a meeting with The Young Bucks.
Shane McMahon has nothing to do with WWE anymore, as he hasn’t officially worked for the company in a long time. It’s anyone’s guess if he is a part of the situation. At this point, it may be a huge moment, and right in Tony Khan’s wheelhouse to stun fans with a massive Shane McMahon surprise.
