WWE NXT CW Premiere Predictions? | Question Of The Day

Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

Tonight will be the premiere of WWE NXT on the CW network. WWE is obviously trying to make this a special show, and the card reflects that, with two championships on the line, a street fight, and guest appearances from main roster talent.

My question for you today is “What are your predictions for this CW premiere of NXT?”

Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.

As far as my answer…

Here’s the full lineup and my thoughts for each segment underneath.

NXT Championship Match: Ethan Page vs. Trick Williams with CM Punk as guest referee

I feel like Trick Williams pretty much has to win the title back, right? Maybe Drew McIntyre gets involved and offsets CM Punk for a massive pop from the crowd, and Ethan Page is able to use that chaos to cheat to win with a different referee counting the pin, but if that’s the case, it only serves to extend this feud even longer into Halloween Havoc. Frankly, I’d rather just have Trick win the title here and either move on to a new contender for that event, unless they set up a gimmick match between them at that show to offset the cheating.

In any fashion, Trick is getting this title back and will be holding it by the end of the month, so he might as well win it here.

NXT Women’s Championship Match: Roxanne Perez vs. Giulia

I was 100% confident Giulia was going to win this title up until that weird ending of NXT last week with Stephanie Vaquer popping up on the screen. Now, I’m starting to think Giulia will look like she should win it, only for Vaquer to come out, interfere, and the match will be thrown out or something will happen where it will set up a Triple Threat for Halloween Havoc.

A lot of that depends on what they do for the Williams/Page situation, too. WWE isn’t going to start the CW premiere with two schmoz endings where the heel champions retain. I’d argue they’re more likely to have both titles change hands. In a lot of ways, I think this is going to open the show and kick things off with a title change, actually. But I’m not 100% anymore like I was before.

I’m still going with Giulia winning the title as my ultimate prediction, but I wouldn’t be shocked if it ends with Perez retaining somehow, and with Giulia still looking good in the process while coming up short.

Street Fight: Wes Lee vs. Zachary Wentz

Wentz got the win at No Mercy. Lee has to win here. He’s the contracted NXT Superstar who will be utilized going forward, while Wentz is a TNA guy who might have his appearances already checked off after this. I see no reason why Wentz should win twice in a row, only for Lee to be left sticking around looking like a loser.

This should be a lot of fun. I’m really looking forward to seeing what they do together.

The Miz hosts Miz TV with guests Oba Femi & Tony D’Angelo

Strangely, this is happening right after The Miz turned heel. I think WWE should have waited an extra week for that, to be honest. Then again, maybe it won’t make any difference, or it’ll actually help by giving Tony D’Angelo another heel to work off.

This is a contract signing. I could see Femi getting pushed aside with The Miz taking the ultimate fall through the table by D’Angelo, and then, Femi takes out D’Angelo.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill appear

I don’t know why they’re popping up, as they haven’t been all that much advertised to be doing anything. It’s strange that they’re also the “hosts” of Bad Blood this weekend. Does WWE really have nothing for them to do other than to just put them out there, go “here they are” and that’s it?

Since there aren’t any women’s tag team champions in NXT anymore, but there are still tag teams, I’m guessing they’re getting involved in the Fatal Influence segment. Those three will probably talk some trash, Belair and Cargill will introduce Jaida Parker and Lola Vice, and that’s about it.

Jaida Parker & Lola Vice vs. Two Members of Fatal Influence

Since they haven’t said who those two members are, which is odd, I’m guessing it is just Fallon Henley and Jacy Jayne so Jazmyn Nyx (the least honed of them) can stay on the outside and interfere, costing the babyfaces the victory. That is, of course, unless Belair and Cargill are indeed involved in this, and they offset Nyx.
