TNA Wrestling Staff Forced to Battle Hurricane Helene Effects Before Cancelling Event

Hurricane Helene has caused significant disruption in the pro wrestling world, beyond the cancellation of one of Chris Jericho’s Fozzy concerts. TNA Wrestling rescheduled their upcoming Spartanburg shows at first, but now they have canceled those planned shows, which complicates their schedule.

Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that TNA Wrestling made extensive efforts to start the tapings from Friday through next Tuesday, intending to build momentum for TNA Bound for Glory.

It was noted that TNA promoted the tapings heavily, having the Hardy Boyz travel to Spartanburg early for media appearances. They also had staff already at the venue, preparing for the event.

Some staff members who were already on-site encountered difficulties when the power went out in their hotel. With no vacancies available elsewhere, some had to charge their devices in their cars. Due to the hazards posed by Hurricane Helene and the power outage at the venue, TNA made the decision to cancel the shows.

There have been discussions regarding TNA’s plans moving forward, including the possibility of running Skyway Studios in Nashville next week, the site used during the pandemic and for Slammiversary 2021. Obviously, this situation is still developing.

Many have been informed that this week’s episode of television could feature a “best of Bound for Glory” format. It remains to be seen how TNA Wrestling will manage this situation, but it is certainly not ideal.
