Cody Rhodes: Steve Austin Hasn’t Punched His Legends Card Enough

Cody Rhodes would love to see Steve Austin get involved in any capacity.

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin recently sparked some buzz by teasing an appearance at WWE WrestleMania 41. He was rumored for WrestleMania 40, but the show came and went without him.

Speaking with Gabby LaSpisa on Gabby AF, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was asked about “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s tease. He first praised the legend and his contributions to the business.

“Steve Austin is, from a dollars and cents standpoint, the most profitable wrestler ever,” Cody Rhodes said. “I think from guys who like the business and study the business of it, that’s the benchmark. That’s where you want to get. Also, in addition to all of that, being the most profitable, more memories than anyone could possibly provide, he really did, WWE at the time needed. WWE doesn’t need things that often.

“At that time, they needed ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, and he pulled it out of the spot it was in and just made everybody rich and brought a whole new flavor to the industry. He is just really special, unbelievable wrestler. I didn’t see his tease, but I’d love to see him in any capacity. He over delivered with Kevin Owens [at WrestleMania 38], and if that was the end, that’s a great end, and Kevin Owens did an incredible job there too.”

Cody Rhodes: Steve Austin Could Do Anything

Cody Rhodes then shared his belief that Steve Austin has not punched his Legends card enough. He stated that Austin could do whatever he wanted.

“But anything with Steve…also, I feel like he hasn’t punched his Legends card enough,” Cody Rhodes said. “He could just come in and tag with somebody. It doesn’t have to be, I know he probably really wanted to be at the highest of levels, but man, you’re a legend. You can do whatever you want. Just enjoy.” Jokes he would cry when he looked at the merch sheet that he sold more merch.”
