Saraya‘s AEW contract may be up soon, according to a new report.
Saraya, formerly known as Paige in WWE, came out of retirement and signed with AEW in 2022. She debuted at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam that September. She later won the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW All In 2023.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Saraya could potentially be a free agent soon, as her AEW deal extends until at least September. Sapp writes that there were option years, but “something else” is likely on the table.
The report notes that the nature of the option years has been the subject of internal debate, as sources claimed that both sides hold them. However, Sapp writes that Saraya and AEW have at least been in talks about possibly extending the deal, either with a new contract or with an option being exercised.
Per Sapp, Saraya is planned for AEW All In on August 25. First, she is set to challenge Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship on the August 21 episode of AEW Dynamite.
