Daniel Garcia spent a great deal of time in AEW as a member of the Jericho Appreciation Society.
All Elite Wrestlingâs Daniel Garcia recently sat down with Denise Salcedo. When asked about his time with Chris Jericho in the Jericho Appreciation Society, Garcia said they didnât even know each other when they were initially paired together.
âItâs crazy because me and Jericho didnât know each other when we were put in that group,â Daniel Garcia revealed. âHe came up to me one day and he told me like, âHey, I think weâre gonna start this group, the Jericho Appreciation Society, and I think youâre gonna be in it.â That was one of our first conversations. We didnât know each other, he didnât know anything about me. I didnât know him personally, so it was confusing.
âObviously, itâs like a big pressure situation. Youâre getting put in a stable with the top guy in AEW, one of the top wrestlers of all time. I feel like at that point I was used to high-pressure situations because of all the crazy things I did when I first got to AEW. I feel like I was kind of used to the high pressure. So the pressure didnât bother me. I was just confused as to like how did this happen? This guy doesnât even know me, why did he put me in this group?â
Donât be afraid to try new things
When asked what the most important thing Chris Jericho taught him while was a member of the JAS, Garcia said it was not to be afraid to try new things.
âJericho has taught me a lot. I think the main thing he taught me is not to be scared of trying new things,â Daniel Garcia said. âBecause heâs somebody like â Jericho does not care. Heâll try a million things, if one of them sticks, great. If the rest of the 999,999,999 doesnât work itâs fine because one of them stuck.
âAnd I think thatâs the biggest thing Jericho has taught me. Try new things, donât be afraid to try new things. If it doesnât work thereâs always next week and you can try something new. Thatâs when I started doing the leather pants, the dance, all that kind of stuff. So he really just helped me get over the fear of trying and I think thatâs so important in wrestling.â
