Kevin Owens reached out to some legends when he needed a partner.
Owens was set to team up with a mystery partner to face A-Town Down Under on the September 13 episode of WWE SmackDown. He initially teamed up with Ricky from Seattle. Randy Orton then came out to join forces with Orton. Owens and Orton then scored the win.
In a post on Instagram, Kevin Owens spoke with Randy Orton backstage after the match. He explained that he didn’t think that Orton would be there. Owens noted that he needed a partner for the match. He stated that he asked Booker T, but he was still upset at Owens for trash-talking Texas.
Owens then said that he asked Rob Van Dam, but the WWE Hall of Famer said that he was “on another planet.” He noted that he was confused, as RVD was standing right in front of him. Owens said that Ricky stepped up and said he would team up with him. Ricky walked up, and Owens thanked him. Ricky asked Owens if he had to Stun him. Owens admitted that he got a little excited. He apologized and thanked Ricky. Orton thanked him as well.
Rob Van Dam, Booker T, and other legends were in attendance for the September 13 episode of WWE SmackDown, as it was the season premiere.
