There are some false stories circulating online about Maria Kanellis and her pregnancy with one rumor claiming that she waited until after signing her new 5-year deal to let the company know that she was expecting her second child.
Actually, that is not the case. Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that she just found out about her pregnancy. Meltzer cited people close to the situation on this story. After she found out and let the company know, then the angle on Monday Night Raw was immediately put together.
It is true that WWE did not know of her pregnancy until after she and husband Mike signed their new contracts but she also did not know that she was pregnant until after she signed. A week before the Raw angle, they did a storyline on 205 Live with Mike Kanellis “quitting” and then changing his Twitter name back to Mike Bennett.
For what it’s worth, I was told that they do have plans for Mike Kanellis but those plans might not fully play out until Maria returns.
